St Jeb are raring to go on the sports front again this year and have an action packed sporting calendar to enjoy. This year St Jeb will host 7 cluster sporting events, ranging from football and netball tournaments to the KS1 dance competition (strictly style)!
St Jeb will also continue to implement our policy of entering a whole class into events so that ALL children will take part in competitive sporting events, this worked well last year and has sparked a real interest in sports for many non engaged pupils. Last year we identified 34 pupils who were not engaging in sporting activities, but the end of the year we had 22 of them wanting to play sports or do physical activity. We are very proud.
St Jeb will continue to enter 5 floorball teams into the North Cotswold League, almost double the number of any other school, again increasing participation in competitive sports. There are 3 leagues, A League, B league and the Girls league and around 10 schools enter. Last year we reached all 3 league finals and won 2 of them! We aim to do the same again this year.
Sporting club club participation was at an all time high last year, with over 50 children on average attending football every Friday and at one point we had 62 signed up for dodgeball club, wow!
Parents, let's keep our children active!
