The Cotswold Floorball League's Girls' Team qualifying pool was to have been completed tonight, but only three matches were played. Three more games need to be played before the finalist will be known. Temple Guiting and Dormer House are now locked at the top, guaranteed at least a semi final place, but can be overtaken by either St James & Ebrington or Mickleton who are yet to play.
Georgia Wasdell's early goal looked set to give Dormer House victory against St JEB, only for Edie Buckham to equalise very late. St JEB then played table topping Temple Guiting. The latter did get the ball in the net, but the shot was rightly denied for high sticks. That proved to be the only chance in a 0-0 draw. Having dropped four points, St JEB were now desperate for the win. Evie Hall for Saints and Tilly Kinchin for Ilmington were both in fine form, keeping their respective teams in the game. Eventually it was Kinchin who had to give way when Buckham used her soccer skills in a single move to control the ball and flick it to one side before striking home.
With so much time left in the session, Temple Guiting defeated Dormer House 3-0 in a friendly, which may yet be repeated as a much longer semi final, or the final, if the remaining league matches work out that way. Millie von Wedel (2) and Lettice Tilley-Loughrey were the scorers.
A highlight of the evening was the half-hour friendly between St James & Ebrington and Ilmington, each side bolstered by teacher, parent or CCS referee. Ilmington eventually won 9-6, the scores being level at 2-2, 3-3, and 4-4 before they pulled away. Miia Lord, Axel Lord (2), Chloe Angus, Ella Feeney and Josh Rushby (4) scored for the winners, Isla Weeks-Coleman (4) and Mr Daldry (2) for StJEB.
