PE

Nurture:

All children will be given the opportunity to develop their knowledge, skills and vocabulary through a PE curriculum that is accessible to all; nurturing all their different abilities.

Cherish:

Children are cherished and encouraged to recognise the strengths of themselves and others, enabling them to develop their health, fitness and mental wellbeing.

Shine:

Children are given opportunities to compete at all levels and all abilities so their own strengths and skills are celebrated and allowing them to shine; either as a team or an individual.

Flourish:

We aim to provide equal opportunity of learning experiences in a broad range of sporting activities. As well as developing values and transferrable life skills such as fairness and respect, children are allowed to flourish in order to achieve their goals.

Purpose of study

A high-quality physical education curriculum inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities. It should provide opportunities for pupils to become physically confident in a way which supports their health and fitness. Opportunities to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.
